About Us

Madrasa Sultan-ul-Madaris & Jamia Sultania was established in 1892 in Lucknow by Grand Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Abul Hasan (Abbu Sahab). Built under the guidance of Nawab Mehdi Hasan Khan, a well-regarded philosopher and philanthropist from Avadh, the institution’s new building saw its foundation stone laid in 1911. Upon completion of the central hall, it was inaugurated by Sir John Prescott Hewett, the Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces, on March 21, 1913. Today, under the leadership of Principal Maulana Mohammad Ishaq Rizvi, the institution continues to uphold its rich legacy.
